Yes, that is possible. You can just open the hinged door and weigh the lantern down.

Yes, the sides are made of real glass and could break if not handled properly although these lanterns are both sturdy and stunning.

The Quincy lanterns are entirely powered by the sun. Each night, the lanterns will be lit until they run out of power, and then spend all day charging back up. To get a full charge, they need about 6-8 hours of direct sunlight. Less sun or indirect sun will mean less power to light the lantern in the evenings, but they'll still light up for a time.

Could you hang the lantern?

It does have a handle, but hanging it might make it difficult for sun to reach the solar panel that sits right below the handle, so we dont recommend it.

Good question! The Lanterns are made of real metal glass and durable resin and are designed to be out in the direct sun. Our customers have had these lights in every corner of the US- including the desert- and we haven't seen any problems like that.

The lanterns are solar powered- the candle is wired in connected all the way to the roof of the lantern. So the candle is not replaceable.

These lanterns are solar-powered so you just leave the lanterns (switch must be turned ON) in the sun for 6-8 hours and you'll be all charged up.

These lanterns have light sensors that tell them when to charge and when to produce light. There isn't a great way to have a solar light ON when there is other light shining on it. You can cover the solar panel but I think a better solution might be to use battery-powered lanterns instead of solar-powered.

The lantern is decorative so we don't measure it in lumens sorry. It's bright enough to see from a distance but you wouldn't want to try to read by it.

These are beautiful, sturdy lanterns that are standing up to the elements. I love them. I had previously purchased plastic solar lanterns (from a different vendor) and they literally melted. These are metal and much better quality.

Really nice lanterns, the set is very cute and they work well! The solar battery wasn't charging in one of them so I contacted customer service about it and they sent a new battery and now they both work great! Only complaint was the battery issue but it was an easy fix.
