We would not recommend mounting this fixture upside-down with the opening at the top when used outdoors.

Does the post light come with a base ?

No, the standard-sized outdoor post is sold separately. You can also use a pier mount with this light. Our light comes ready to install on either option, or on an existing 3 pole you have installed.

Can you use an adapter with this fixture for Christmas lights?

The Sam Wall Light is open at the bottom of the frame, so you would use a E26 socket adapter plug with string lights. Keep in mind the max wattage for this fixture is 100W.

Can you use a dimmer switch with this light?

Yes, you can use this fixture with a dimmer switch but you must also have a dimmable lightbulb. Thanks for your question!

Thanks for your question - The bulb shown in the photos is a T9 shape (long and tubular) with a medium E26 base. For the medium-sized Sam Wall Light, I would recommend a T9 bulb around 8 long.

No, this post light does not come with a dawn-to-dusk sensor.

Are these lights rust re-resistant and/or waterproof?

Yes, these outdoor wall lights are waterproof (ETL, Wet location rated) and have a durable, powder-coated finish.

Specifications state textured black finish. How does this differ from a smooth matte black finish?

Thanks for your question - These fixtures do have a subtle, sandy texture to the powder-coated finish. If you look at the 5th product image, close-up view, you can see the finish details.

Is the glass flat or beveled? Do glass panels need to be added or is it factory installed?

The glass side panels on the Sam are flat (not beveled) and the glass comes already factory installed in the frame. The bottom of the fixture is open. More information about installation can be found in the Product Manual, which is listed in the product specifications area (PDF). Hope that helps!

Hi, thanks for your question. The Sam Wall lights and hanging light are open on the bottom, and enclosed in clear glass on the side panels. The Sam Post light is closed on the bottom, with glass side panels.

Hi, thanks for your question. The Same take a E26 (medium) base bulb, 100W max, 120V. The bulb shown here in the image is currently not available, but we offer a similar style, the Cobble Hill LED T9 . You can also use a standard sized E26 bulb with the Sam.

How available are these type of bulbs? Doeds Home Depot of Lowe's carry them?

Yes, the bulb shown is a T9 shape (long and tubular) and the base is a standard E26 medium bulb. Our current Cobble Hill bulb is a T9 shape and a bit longer than the bulb pictured here, but it works well with the Sam. Alternately, you can use a 'regular' shaped medium base lightbulb, it doesn't need to be the elongated tubular shape. Hope that helps!
