- Is this pole mount salt water dock safe from salt water.This pier mount adapter is made of aluminum, has a powder-coated finish, and we do salt spray testing simulating long time use. However, we would not recommend direct exposure to salt water. A product with special marine grade paint would probably be best, but use your best judgment for your dock and specific situation.
